A year after opening South Africa’s first dedicated poker lounge, the Montecasino is now preparing to host a poker tournament.
Around a year ago the Montecasino became the first casino in South Africa to operate a dedicated poker lounge and now they are hosting their very own Montecasino Poker Champs Tournament with a prize pool of over R2 million.
The tournament will be taking place between Friday 26th and Sunday 28th March at La Toscana in Montecasino and is not to be missed. It is possible to enter directly into the Main Event; alternatively there are a number of Satellite Tournaments which players can register for online.
The satellite tournaments will be taking place every week in the Poker Suite at Montecasino which offers an excellent opportunity to sharpen your skills before the tournament and win a seat at the Main Event. Aside from the massive prize pool, the tournament will offer players the chance to play No Limit Texas Hold’em and Freeze Out Poker against a huge field of players.
Registration is very straight forward and only takes a few minutes, after registering all you need to do is arrive at the Main Cash Desk in Montecasino, present yourself and then jump straight into high quality poker action. Furthermore, those who registered are automatically entered into a prize draw which could win a seat at the Main Event courtesy of Montecasino as well as free accommodation and a number of other surprises for the full VIP experience.
The satellite events will be taking place at the Montecasino Poker Suite every Tuesday at 7:30pm until the 25th March. The buy in has been set at R1650 for the satellites and registration starts at 5pm every Tuesday. They are also prepared to arrange additional satellites if there is at least ten players interested.
