Playing bingo online helps fundraising for charities

Online bingo operators in the UK are highly regarded for their fundraising abilities, even by the House of Lords

One of the best results of rising popularity of online bingo is the fact that leading bingo operators in the UK are able to effectively promote donations to charities among their customers. Gala Coral Group’s recent fundraising effort is probably the best example of this effectiveness. It was so successful, that last week the House of Lords has even invited its representatives to a reception.

The Gala Coral Group together with Sue Ryder Care charity has been working on raising a huge amount of £1,000,000 for the latter. The fundraising efforts were so successful that a new goal was set, climbing to £1,500,000; though even this new target has been surpassed by the end of the two-year-long campaign.

Coral organized a lot of land-based outstanding fundraising events to collect such a large sum. This included a very special game of bingo played on Mount Everest. This game has since been proclaimed the ‘highest game of bingo’. Some of the top executives of the group participated in the charity events, being a host at a Gala Bingo Woking night of bingo.

Mecca Bingo (part of the Rank Group) has recently been raising funds for a breast cancer awareness charity through its Bingo for Breakthrough charity campaign. During the past few years this campaign has raised for them over £1,600,000. Mecca Bingo is responsible for a broad range of fund raising events at their bingo halls all over the UK. Among those were pink hair dying, leg waxing, sky diving and pink Olympics.
